Some Fan Comments:
- LJVanArnam@hotmail.com: I think that all
the stuf needs upgrading, becouse your stuff gets better, and and you get a challenge!!!
So let Yuri come in with a repair bulding, make a challenge, and keep the Grinder too.
Makes things a little more interesting!!! Lets go into battle, and destroy all that gets
in our way. With more tech and more challenges!!!
- 3azy: No service 4 yuri. he cn nick a ifv
and stick an engy in it, or (by luck) find a healing crate.
- Cyborg: well why repair a unit when the al
yuri just puts it into a grinder(unless that could be fixed) well i really didnt know waht
to put so i havent voted yet i mean he could do some repairing to units but eventually
they will die in some way whether air or ground they all get killed in combat (unless your
the winner) so i would have to say replace grinder or no RD. about 85% of people dont even
use RD they just build them to rebuild an MCV. and thats all im going to say......[end
transmission]
- sykoglen: i think he sould not get it
because u can just kill the unit and billd it again.
- Natus: I think Grinder only, Repair depo
isnt all that good really. I mean, sod it, its a maniac psychic guy, hes can control new
units, why repair old?
- nickmaker: Yuri don't think to repiar
things. becuase he born to be destroy!
- matt: i think a service depot would be good
for yuri to repair. but the grinder is a way for yuri to get money if needed.
- Clazzy: I say you keep it. It gives Yuri
something special, and of course, he doesn't believe in repairing stuff. All he wants to
do it recycle it He's probably a member of Greenpeace, bless him. As well, if Yuri wanted
to repair something he'd just simply mind-control an IFV and plonk an engineer in it. Or
capture a service depot.
- flefilker: I put a Yuri Service Depot in my
mod Tides of War. It's working out great for Yuri. I left the grinder in though. Yuri
needs a source of income when capturing useless units. I just changed the Prerequisite for
Yuri's MCV to Yuri's Service Depot instead of the grinder. Works wonders!
- ExtremeDumb: Yuri's Grinder is unique and
if you have a Repair Depot with it it would make it would take some strategy away. Yuri
depends on the cash from the Grinder and if he has units that are damaged, he can simply
destroy it in the Grinder and build it again. The only exception and benefit to having a
repair depot replace or add on to Yuri's side is the fact you've mind controlled something
worth while, like an elite Apocalypse or Elite Battle Fortress and you want to keep it in
peak condition for the just in case. Bumping the Grinder up in the technology tree is
useless, because you would then need more cash to get access to the Grinder, and the
Grinder is a fairly low level structure. All it does is crush up whatever goes into it.
Lastly, the Grinder was a unique addition to Yuri's Revenge, since that the Allied Repair
Depot can no longer sell vehicles.
- Gario: The basic idea of Yuri is use the
enemy's forces rather than sustain his own - why would he bother repairing his tanks when
he could sieze new ones for free? Also, it makes Yuri even more unique and different - if
it was up to me I would remove the Soviet repair depot and give them a mobile repair
vehicle, just so everyone hd a different method of repair. It would cause some balance
problems though... Maybe all Yuri vehicles should auto-heal (EB4D Ordos style)? If you
want to repair your vehicles, get a Machine Shop or just don't play as Yuri.
- mrruben5: Don't give him a repair depot,
makeup something original! instead, givehim a vehicle that repairs slow, but for free.
- more soviet,more allied: I think yuri's
true policies is to have an enourmous-overwhelming army even the controled ones.its
because YURI,the person who can turn enemy into our side.in this case, service depot must
exist.no one wants to battle with a little life bar.with these even weak tank,we can still
dance with the BEST of 'em grinder purpose is a alternative ways to get cash.it also save
us.for example, you mind control demolition truck and find out the truck is rigged.this can
be saved by sending the truck into grinder rather by slowing engineer.so it DOESN'T matter
bumping a grinder.
- TQ: I think the reason why this might have
come up is that YR˛ is trying to bring some of the game concepts down to earth, and the
idea of grinding units and people up for money is frankly whacked :p What if Yuri had a
buildable Machine Shop type structure which worked quite a bit slower than the actual tech
building?
- Fenring: Yuri is not about repairing his
units. He has little or no regard for anything or anyone but himself. His Grinder also
provides a source of extra income, much like the Ore Purifier or the Industrial Plant to a
lesser extent. If you remove this ability, he's at a SEVERE and almost brutal
disadvantage. The psychicness is Yuri's essence and getting from that is a GREAT and often
times, NECESSARY enhancement.
- Dark Scorpion: I think that Yuri should be
left with the Grinder and NOT be given a service depot. The classic Yuri weakness is that
since he can't repair his units, they are harder to promote.
