Some Fan Comments:

  • MiChElLi: I could never mod RA2 very well anyway. I'm no good at modding and stuff. I'm more of a download mods and say WTF is this crap, even though I couldn't do any better :D. Oh and MooMan, your mod MooMan's Rules is sweet. Same goes to CannisRabidus for CannisRules, and the dude/dudette that made Aftermath.
  • FS-21: If finish my mod in YR I wish see that is possible in Generals... (if my comp can run the game lol)
  • CannisRabidus: I did say 'of course' but it does depend on various aspects of the game. The most important of which is the AI and the unit path finding. Since mods are most often played against the AI (typically in skirmish mode), then that's the way players would end up playing my mod as well. If the AI of the game is lacking, then no amount of modding can create a good gameplay experience... if that is the case, there will be little point in modding. I'll just have to wait and see.
  • LPark: Definitely. With the new 3d engine. making all kinds of new weapons and recreating old ones will prove for some great mods out there. I'm sure well see our share of bad ones too but who cares ITS 3D!
  • Wize: I do plan to mod this game in the future, when I actually get bored of playing it normally. I raised this issue in an article at YRARG/CNCGuild. Do we buy games for the original quality or do we buy them so that we can mod them once they start to get more predictable...
  • ArgCmdr: I'm gonna finish all the RA2YR projects I have rolling, and then see. Initially, none of my comps can run Generals, and by the time I got a good one, ill probably start modding Homeworld II. The capabilities of its engine are much more attractive to me than Generals. I wouldn't close a door though ;)
  • Banshee: After some time. It's better to have fun with the original game until get bored and I'm also working in PPM (which will still take a long time to be finished), so I prefer to wait a bit.
  • MooMan65: Well, you can guess as to what I voted for, my computer will run Generals, just not at all a nice speed for any modding to occur just yet. This may change in the future, but for now it doesn't look so good.
