Some Fan Comments:
- move soviet,more allied: i've done thinking
for some time. if u want to have a new miner for allied, all that i can say is......keep as
it is.it was design to gather money in short time.even through it has no self defense, the
crono miner only capability for defend is....terror drones.as its crono back to the
factory, the drone stays thus make its safe from getting infected(unlike soviet&yuri
they would destroy anyway).if stealth/phase miner exist, they still can be destroy by drone
on force fire. so if u still want to change it, the best miner can be is...mmc as mobile
miner cycle(i dont know what to name it anyway u name it)a cycle drive into the ore field
and deploys it on the ore(exactlty ON the ore).same concept as slave mine BUT its not.when
it deploys it asorb the ore beneth it.the ore quickly produced.this will make the player
gets the money quickly.what special is... u know the ore producer(the post in the ore
field.i dunno)?order it into it and the miner deploys into it.therefore it asorb the ore
directly from the ore producer.that means the player will get money without decreasing in
the rest of the game.u get it right?quickly produced and SAVED from terror drones.thats
the concept of allied
- Archy b Cad: replace Chrono Miner wid... A
v. Large miner, expensive but carries a lot of ore. Cause America in particular is famous
(or was in some people opinion) for its industrial MIGHT.
- Clazzy: I think that the Phase Miner
would be best but I agree with mrruben5 that Soviet miners should detect cloaked units.
Also, the Allies have the disadvantage that they mine half the ore that the Soviets do,
therefore they would have a safer harvester but in the long term is not as effective. The
War Miner goes in all-guns blazing and will just fight off the enemy but will give more
money.
- ComradeJ: Keep it as it is. It breaks
huge Soviet Terror Drone attacks and fits perfectly in the Allied strategy of gathering a
lot of money for their expensive tanks and infantry. A Hover miner is a reasonable idea,
yet it adds nothing and just asks for Terror Dones or other enemies. The Phase Miner is a
sucky idea. If it'd be so handy, why not install on every tank? It just pushes away the
realism and is quite unbalanced. You could just mine in your enemies' base without being
noticed...
- Commander KAzmikaze: i think i should be
eaither the stealth/Pahse miner or the floating miner but if its stealth then ass a
turrert (i.f.v machine gun) but a bit stronger. and have the slave miners and war miners
able to spot them so the game would be balanced. i mean if you blow up a base and all u
need is the miner then how are u going to find it so make a sensor array or allow slave
and war miners to see it.
- JDep: Keep the dame thing as is! No new
crap should be added for the allies in this area... Instead of replacing it why not
improve upon it? Moo, could it be possible to have the miner shift to the area its
colecting from and then manualy bring it to the refinery? This wouldnt do much in its
speed so increase its speed on land and keep its payload count the same. So it wont
actualy be collecting a higher count of ore/gems it would just be colecting it faster.
Thats just my opinion but please dont take out the shifting.
- Blade606: I think it should be replaced
with the amphibious miner because it is a usefull adition to the allies econemy which
sucked. 500 a go isnt much when you are trying to create a big tank army. You cant even
build a tank with 500.
- Robster: DUDE SERIOSULY ITS THE CHRONO
MINER IT NEEDS NO CHANGEING each sides miner has one uniqness to it the allies can
chronoback to base, soviets can defend its self and be used as an assault unit,Yuris is
instead of one big truck that picks up alto of ore it has on huge truck that deploys and
lets out slaves that can hold a tiny amount. so realy the chrono needs no changein the
onely thing id changes with it is to make it so itll chrono to where the ore pathch is at
then drive around well pickin up ore then chrono back to base that would be awsome you
know make it so if you target ore for it and the ore more then say 20 things away itll
chrono to it but onley if you target ore not normal ground and if you target the ore
refinery(of course)
- Dark Scorpion: Phase Miner. I would
prefer this unit - as you said Mooman, it is far more original as the standard versions
and does fit in with the Allied thesis to war more comfortably.
Failing that, I would stick with the Chrono Miner as Amphibious Miners have been used in
so many mods, both for RA2 and TibSun - the Chrono Miner is more original in this respect
(As a side point, an article/editorial at PlanetCnC.com stated in an attempt to make the
story more real said the Chrono Tank in RA1 was converted to a miner as the tank was
fairly ineffectual - it isn't offical, but its a reasonable idea).
- Gario: I like the idea of a Phase Miner a
lot, especially as it has infantry as a weakness as opposed to armor-piercing tanks (war
Miner) and anti-infantry tanks (Slave Miner's slaves). But as it would make mining easier
for the Allies (you could get cloaked harvesters in Dune 2000 from crates and they were an
enormous advantage), boosting their economy, does it leave the Soviets at a disadvantage
with the weakest economy?
