| TX has Sole Home | | - MooMan65 | August 25, 2003 | Blade has just updated his Terrain Expansion page on The Project to include the extra things necessary for me to finally shut down the temporary page here at MooMan's Corner. The reason why it was here in the first place was because MODDEN was originally the co-home of the TX until the site shut down. When it did and I moved here, The Project was also going to be part of this network, so I put up a temporary page until The Project was ready to take over full duties for it. Needless to say for a temporary page it's been here for quite a long time, but now it's finally been sorted out.
You can access The Project's Terrain Expansion page here which includes all downloads (including the virtualoctupus map I had here) and information needed.
| Bad News and Good News | | - MooMan65 | August 19, 2003 | What a hectic day yesterday and today have been for me. Yesterday our computer suddenly died and I've had to do a complete reformat to get it working again. It did not seem related to this MSBlaster worm going around as I am on Windows ME and the problems I faced are inconsistant with what the worm does.
But that did not mean it was anything less lethal. I'm not sure what caused it, but I knew I had no choice but to reformat. With the only thing I could get into was DOS, I also knew I would lose almost everything I had done, modding wise, over the past three years. It's a huge loss, but thankfully I conveniently made an online backup of YR˛ about a month beforehand, and I was able to copy most of the vital parts of my daily computer life onto floppy disks.
I was also able to backup the core YR˛ files from our useless old Hard Drive to floppy as well, namely the .ini and .csf files, so the only thing I need to redo now is any graphics I've done in the past month or so. I also kept a record of ALL my mod changes in a seperate file, so I will compare the file of the online backup with the file I saved from my Hard Drive previously to see what I need to redo. I am thankful that I was able to do this, it could have been much worse.
So unfortunatly the mod progress HAS been set back a bit, I will notify you here when I've redone all the things up to the point of yesterday, and then hopefully we shouldn't be too far off from our first private beta!
