The time has come for me to leave you... ...for three weeks. By this time tomorrow I will be well on my way to Arizona, USA for a combination holiday/family reunion for a total of three weeks. During this time I will unable to answer any emails nor will I be online to chat on any IM Systems (MSN, ICQ and AIM). I have posted this newspost a bit in advance to allow you time to send me last minute e-mails if necessary. If you have anything that you urgently want me to reply to, please send it within the next 10 hours or so.

I'm not leaving without giving you a going-away present though! I've done a large update to the Other Changes information page detailing many other miscellaneous things that so far only the beta-testers have experienced (and even then some are a bit obscure.) This isn't the final update to that page before the release, but it's the main one.

So I say farewell for now! Don't let this stop any discussions you may want to continue with on the forums or in the shoutbox, as I can read them when I get back. Ciao!

Yeah, yeah. It's been a bit, but I was stuck trying to think of a replacement poll question since this one is now over. Sue me.

As for the AI, more people preferred me to release it 'on time' which I can't say is too surprising. Of course I never gave a definitive date for when abouts 'on time' was, and that's the main issue I want to talk about now. I did say before that I was wanting to get this out before I leave on holiday but that's becomming less and less likely thanks to exams and other Uni work. Normally with these holidays coming up I'd have plenty of time even to do the AI myself but for three weeks I'll be completely unavailable to do any work at all.

So, either way the release won't quite happen as early as planned (not that you'd really thought I'd keep to it, right? ) but I will keep to the majority of your wishes and reduce AI amounts. Notice that the progress target shrunk? Only 4% remain now. 3% for the AI (one for each side) and the final percentage for the release preperation I mentioned earlier. As only 1% is allocated, do not expect much more from the AI than adding in new teams to use the new units and adjusting existing scripts to accomodate the game changes I've made. The AI will not be much 'better' than you're used to beyond attacking more frequently and at more times at once, but it won't be the same old thing either.

Beyond this, this might be my last newspost before I say goodbye next week, but you never know. There's still some time left. In the mean time vote on the new poll:
