| It's Alive! | | - MooMan65 | April 26, 2004 | No I'm not dead here! This shows you how damn annoying Uni can be at times. I had more work to do in the mid-Semester break than I had during school weeks! It's hell, but it's not stopped me here. It'll take a lot more to do that!
So anyway, it's been ages since a Status Update. I've organised the process in which I'll continue the development of YR˛ from this point until the public release. If you notice the Current Status of the mod has been changed to 'Pre-Alpha' which is a more accurate representation of where I am up to right now. There are two stages the mod must go through before being ready for public usage: the Alpha stage which basically signifies that the basic mod changes are in place, and the Beta stage where the features are developed with the help of feedback from a selected group of people.
Really what will happen is once the mod reaches the first Alpha version, that is when the first lot of Information pages will be released as at that point I will have completed the basic unit and structure changes/additions. As Alpha versions develop I will continue adding in the beginnings of more features to the stage where they are playable, and development will progress to Beta.
Just before I am due to release the first Beta version I will contact the people I have chosen to offer them spots in the beta-test. The point of testing is to get a lot of feedback from all sorts of different people, whether they be mod makers themselves or casual players. The first Beta will have the majority of the features added to the mod and they will be heavily developed based on the feedback I get. Once I believe that the mod is worth the public's use and the testers agree on it then V1.0 Final will be out!
Before you ask me, I have no idea how long each of these processes will take. I planned to already be at Beta stage by now but that was before I realised how intense Uni life is like, so it goes to show how quickly planned timeframes can change. Since this is a leisure activity is takes the back-seat in the list of things to do (of course not out of choice.) But work is still progressing, however slowly! | |
