SOVIET STRUCTURES

This page details all structures MooMan's Rules adds to all the Soviet countries. It doesn't however display special country additions, for them, please go here.

Please note that all descriptions and information here is also in the MooMan's Rules readme file.

STRUCTURES

Barbed Wire Fence
Cost: 25
Armor: Light
Prerequisite: Soviet Barracks
Purpose: Light, Infantry-Based Defense
The Barbed-Wire Fence is a tall, metallic fence that is vital when protecting your early units and structures from engineer or dogs attacks. The low cost and fast build-speed makes this an easy defense when protecting crucial structures at the start of any match. Soviet players should be aware of how useful this defense is when stopping Engineers from taking over your buildings. The Barbed-Wire Fence is fragile though, can be destroyed and crushed quickly by more advanced units and infantry, it is mainly only used at the start of a match when infantry threats are the highest.
Gates
Cost: 250
Armor: Medium
Prerequisite: Soviet Barracks
Purpose: Base Entry
The gates are back! Now they take on a more familiar red and while striped version but they still behave in the same manner as in Tiberian Sun. They will automatically open to let friendly and allied units through but will not open for enemy units. After seeing a rather more limiting appearance in Tiberian Sun, MooMan's Rules enable you to fully use these defensive structures again.
Guard Tower
Cost: 700
Armor: Heavy
Prerequisite: Soviet Barracks
Weapon: Duel AP Missile Launcher
Range: Medium
Purpose: Anti-Tank Defense
The Soviets always to try to exploit an advantage over it's foes, and since the development of the Gun Turret for the Allied forces, the Soviets countered it by creating the Guard Tower. Standing high over the battlefield and firing duel Armor piercing missiles, the Guard Tower is a useful addition to the Soviet defensive force. Although it isn't as damaging at the Turret's cannon, it makes that up for faster rate of fire, so the Guard Tower can spend less time working away at a single target and therefore, protecting your base from any Allied Tank force. An added bonus allows it to assist Flak Cannon's in bombarding air targets, but is slightly more expensive than the Allied Turret.
Aquatic Pommeler
Cost: 1100
Armor: Medium
Prerequisite: Soviet Barracks, Soviet Navel Yard, Radar Tower
Weapon: Water-Vapor Propelled Torpedoes
Range: Long
Purpose: Navel-Based Defense
These defensive structures are armed with torpedoes that are propelled via compressed water vapor from the sea around it, making them able to fly through the air and even hit land targets. The Pommeler doesn't have any visible turret, as the torpedoes themselves are launched under the water and are then propelled to the surface and the target doing considerable damage to any naval unit you may encounter. They do have their disadvantages though, they cannot function under low power conditions, are are vulnerable to the long-range weapons fire of Battleships, Aircraft Carriers and Dreadnoughts, making them dependent on naval units to intercept these attackers.
