Most of the downloads
above are in Self Extract Winzip files
meaning you do not have to use WinZip to install the mod. Simply running the .exe file and
extracting out the files to your RA2/YR Directory (by default the programs use
c:\westwood\ra2) and the download will be activated when you next run Red
Alert 2 or Yuri's Revenge! The best things about
modding is that it makes no permanent changes to you games, simply adding or removing the
files from your RA2/YR Directory will install or uninstall the mod respectively! The Assault
Expansion however is in a normal .zip file and you must download and install
WinZip from...:
http://www.winzip.com
...to extract the files to your RA2/YR
Directory.
The two optional expansions all need the
main mod to be installed first before they also can work, they are not stand-alone
products. Also the Assault Expansion is only for Yuri's Revenge
and requires you to download the associated mappacks for this mode on this site, while the Tech
Expansion is compatible with both games. |
