The Reds can only look on in helpless frustration as the mercenary Raptors called by Khamsin lay waste to the outer defenses of their base.  Survivors from destroyed base buildings are unlikely to survive through the fountains of fire left behind after such an attack.  The debris suggests they have suffered through multiple bombardments.
